It’s been a hotly discussed topic all over the internet and in the press for some time and there has been calls from many to introduce measures that make ISP’s tell you what speed your broadband is capable of acheiving. Of course they have a caveat, it depends how far you live from the exchange!

The BBC today lauched a little tool that allows you to measure the speed of your broadband connection and to also put your score into their interactive map which I assume will mean some sort of stats emerging from the exercise further down the line.
